Clairmont Co.

Hi friend— I am Micheala, the owner of Clairmont Co. Embroidery Studio! I am married to my husband, Austin, who operates the finances and logistics of the business. He is the problem solver that keeps the business running. Together, we have our daughter, Finley Clair, which part of Clairmont Co. is named after. 

My dream has always been to one day open up my own online boutique, however, I had no idea what that would like or when— if at all! I received my Masters in Business Informatics from Northern Kentucky University and while I was interviewing for a few corporate positions, I found out I was pregnant with Finley after so much prayer, waiting, and faith. So I emailed every company I was interviewing with that I just received an offer for my dream job. Then, I took a leap of faith to pursue what God put on my heart after a lot of encouragement while staying home to raise my daughter. That is how Clairmont Co. was created.  

I've always been interested in onomastics and when thinking of a business name, I knew I wanted it to be meaningful. Clair- means bright and -mont means mountain & that is exactly what this season of life feels like. Metaphorically, I am standing at the top of the mountain with the sun shining down on my face. It feels like there were so many steps that turned into miles taken to trek up the mountain and now, I'm standing at the top with everything I once prayed for. But no one ever talks about the descent— the moment when you have to turn around and climb back down. I spent so long waiting for this season of life and I desperately try to grasp at every moment longing to pause time because it is all going by too quickly. The first time meeting your child turns into first laughs and first steps and first words. You blink and the baby you once knew is replaced by a toddler now in their place. You can try to pause time but it is the rarest currency we have. I hope that resonates with someone & that hope is why I created Clairmont Co. Embroidery Studio. We can't pause time but we can preserve a moment in time through thoughtfully curated heirloom pieces. Pieces that take you back to a moment that make you say, "Oh remember when...". Pieces that you can pass down to your children and the stories that go along with them. Pieces that remind you of the moments in life that you hold closest to your heart. We are honored to help preserve those moments. ♡
